Preparing for the Chunky Monkey’s Visit!

I’ve been a wee bit distracted lately. I’m preparing for my grandson a.k.a. Chunky Monkey, daughter, and favorite son-in-law (don’t tell him, but he’s my only son-in-law) upcoming visit!

The kids are flying in this weekend so I need to get a few things to prepare to have a baby in the house. I had my daughter send me a list of things to borrow: high chair, pack-n-play, rear facing car seat, and the like! Good thing I don’t work with people my age!! Thankfully my coworkers are supplying me with all the necessities both large and small.

Tonight I spent the evening learning how to use this contraption!

Don’t be fooled by its simplicity!

I did manage to get the Pack-n-Play open and stable so that’s ready to go! I don’t know if I could have ever gotten the car seat in place without help. I’m very grateful when my coworker offered to install that bad boy in my back seat. A gymnastic feat was involved in securing the straps. All that’s left to do is to buy some diapers, wipes, and a whole lot of Cheerios!

  1. Sounds like you are gearing up for some fun. Don’t forget to wear ATGATT when changing those diapers. Or at least a close pin on the nose. 🙂

We had family stay with us when they adopted a newborn from Florida and needed to wait 2 weeks for paperwork before they could go home to Canada.

We too borrowed a pack and play to use as a crib and it wasn’t too bad to put together. A bit of an adventure since we’ve had zero experience with those types of contraptions.

    • You are so funny! Never thought about ATGATT for diaper changing.

My coworker offered her 6 year old to teach me how to open the stroller. I just may take her up on that offer!

  2. Sounds like a lot of crazy fun coming your way. Good luck getting that pack and play folded back up! LOL. Assembly is the easy part. I don’t think I have ever successfully dismantled one of those things solo.

  3. Enjoy your wee chunky monkey! Baby contraptions can be extremely hard to operate and frustrating. Enjoy your visit with your daughter & son-in-law,

  4. Yippee! A visit from the chunkmeister. I do feel your pain when it comes to all those contraptions. I never had a problem with the car seat or the stoller. It was that stinkin’ playpen that taunted me. Just as I thought one side had popped in, it popped out when I went for the next side. I’m pretty sure I heard it chuckling at me.

Hope you all have a great visit. And remember, Cheerios definitely qualify for the 5 minute rule. Enjoy!
